A clearer path to your financial future.
FinPath exists because most financial questions are harder to think about than they need to be. Not because the arithmetic is difficult, but because the assumptions are usually hidden.
Financial tools that respect your intelligence
Most people who want to understand their financial position are perfectly capable of doing so. What they are missing is not intelligence or effort — it is a clear view of how the numbers are arrived at.
Too often, a calculator produces a figure with no explanation of what sits behind it. Was income replacement discounted or not? Does the projection account for inflation? Were fees included? Without answers, you cannot judge whether the result means anything.
So we built the opposite. Every FinPath calculator shows its inputs, names its assumptions, breaks the result into the components that produced it, and states plainly what it does not model.
The result is a tool you can actually reason with — one that treats you as someone capable of drawing your own conclusions from a clear picture.

Four principles we hold to
Show the working
Every calculator states its assumptions and breaks the result into components, so you can see where the number came from rather than taking it on trust.
No product pushing
We do not sell financial products, earn commission on anything you do here, or recommend one option over another. There is nothing for us to steer you towards.
Free, and no details required
The calculators are free and work without your name, email address or cellphone number. Nothing you type into them is sent to us or stored.
Honest about limits
Where a method is a simplification, we say so. Where a result depends on an assumption, we name it. An estimate that hides its weaknesses is not useful.
Two things, done properly
Interactive calculators

This matters as much as what we do, so we want to be direct about it:
- FinPath does not provide personalised financial advice, and we do not assess your individual circumstances or needs.
- We do not recommend, arrange, market or sell any financial product, and we do not act as a financial services provider or intermediary.
- We are not an insurer or a broker, and nothing on this website is an insurance quotation or a product recommendation.
- Our calculators produce educational illustrations based on the assumptions you enter. They are not advice, and they are not a substitute for speaking to a qualified professional.
- We do not currently receive referral fees or commissions, and no lead-sharing or referral arrangement is in place.
Our operating model is undergoing a South African legal and compliance review, which will confirm whether any part of our enquiry and callback process falls within applicable financial services requirements. We will not represent FinPath as holding any authorisation until such authorisation has been verified.
FinPath provides general financial education and illustrative calculators only. Nothing on this website constitutes financial, tax or legal advice, a recommendation, or an offer of any financial product or service.
